Wow…All this takes the food connoisseurs who of course are not following a strict diet regime to cloud no. 9 Italian food has been influenced by Asian, Greek, and African cooking. Italy became a world leader for its cuisine. Cheese became one of the most needed ingredients in Italian dishes such as pasta and pizzas. Italian food dates back over two thousand years ago. It was an important part of the Roman Empire. Of course the Romans were really food of the ‘wines and dines’!!!! The first printing of the cook book also came from Italy. Italian ingredients are seasonal and have regional variations! India has been inhabited by people and because of their different back grounds and climatic conditions their eating habits differed. India has the variety of spices which in turn gets it a wide variety of dishes.&lt;br /&gt;Indians did not have written down recipes but these were passed on through generations. India is a multi-faceted country with a variety of colors, cultural differences, food, festivals, languages, peoples and so on.&lt;br /&gt;Indians take their food very seriously. Cooking is considered an art and mothers usually begin to teach their daughters and pass down family recipes by show-and-tell, fairly young in life. Mealtimes are important occasions for family to get together. Most meals comprise of several dishes ranging from staples like rice and breads to meat and vegetables and rounded off with a dessert.&lt;br /&gt;In a lot of Indian homes, foods are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. For example, some families buy their favorite type of wheat, wash it, dry it in the sun and then take it in to a flourmill to have it ground into flour exactly the way they like, as opposed to buying flour from a store!
